What exactly is AutoCrypto?
AutoCrypto is the wallet control layer that lets an AI agent like Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible assistant talk to your crypto wallet. It's non-custodial — your funds never leave your Safe execution wallet on Base. You connect once with a signature, set your rules, and the agent operates within them.
Is AutoCrypto custodial? Where do my funds live?
Non-custodial throughout. Your USDC sits in a Safe (Gnosis Safe) smart-contract wallet on Base that you deploy and own. AutoCrypto never holds your funds and cannot move them outside the bounded rules your agent is allowed to enforce in code.
Which AI agents can I connect?
Any MCP-compatible agent — Claude (Code or Desktop), Cursor, Windsurf, Aider, OpenCode, Kimi Code, Gemini CLI, and others. One `npx autocrypto-setup` command exposes 14 tools your agent can use to read the market, manage positions, and execute trades.
How much does it cost?
Free forever to connect, analyse, and run shadow trades on live prices. Pro is $9.99 per month and unlocks on-chain execution (the `execute_trade` tool). Cancel anytime through the Stripe portal — the free tier doesn't expire, and the agent simply reverts to read-only mode.
What can my agent actually do?
Read live market context on Base, fetch your portfolio, generate trade recommendations with full reasoning, and journal every decision. On Pro, it can also execute trades — bounded by the budget, max-loss, position size, and cooldown rules you configure during setup.
Can my agent lose all my money?
Your agent operates inside hard limits enforced by code: max order size, max simultaneous positions, daily loss cap, and cooldowns between trades. You also set a total budget — the Safe execution wallet only holds what you funded. The rest of your main wallet is never exposed to agent operations.
What is shadow mode?
Shadow mode runs the agent against live prices but executes trades only in simulation, against your real wallet balance. You see exactly what it would have done — entries, exits, real PnL math — without funds moving. It's free, has no commitment, and we won't push you to Pro if your simulated P&L is red over a week.
Which chains and assets are supported?
Base mainnet, with USDC and ETH as the primary trading pair. Bridging from Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, or Optimism is available through the in-app bridge powered by Across — you sign in MetaMask, the agent never signs.
Can I pause or stop the agent at any time?
Yes. One word in chat — "pause" — stops the agent immediately. You can also revoke its session in MetaMask, or cancel your Pro subscription. The agent reverts to read-only mode and your wallet, history, and policies remain intact.
What about taxes and reporting?
Every trade is logged with full reasoning and timestamps in the audit trail, which you can export at any time. Tax reporting and crypto compliance remain your responsibility — AutoCrypto is not a broker, exchange, or financial advisor.
